Artist Spotlight – SuperVision
Out of all the talented producers on Pretty Lights Music, I’ve got to say that SuperVision seems to be the artist I keep coming back to. Anti-drone and pro-anonymous, he is the perfect artist to sit alongside the throne Pretty Lights has established in electronic music (I’m pretty sure that sentence is due to me watching Game of Thrones last night). Just as Pretty Lights has created his own genre of electronic synth over hip-hop beats, SuperVision is doing something similar with rock drums on a couple of tracks from Telekinetic, his newest EP. Oh, and he’s also based in Colorado.
This Bonobo remix is also a great early night tune, ideal music for driving with the windows rolled down as you head out to a concert or festival in the summer heat (or spring heat if you live in Denver).
Though I’m pretty choked that his Do-Lab set is going on at Coachella RIGHT NOW, I’m sure I’ll get over it. Plus maybe I’ll end up catching him at Sonic Bloom Festival. This South Park, Colorado (yup) music festival kicks off its eighth year June 19th to 22nd (tickets here), and just added four artists from PLM to their already amazing lineup: Paul Basic, Break Science, Michal Menert and SuperVision himself.
SuperVision seems to have a special relationship with “Arcane,” which coincidentally is my favorite song, and the one that made me a fan of SuperVision. I really enjoy the way the guitar riff works with the melody of the song. This one should be stuck in your bobbing head for days.
Be sure to catch SuperVision’s set at Sonic Bloom Festival this year! You won’t be disappointed.
