4bstr4ck3r Releases New Album, Bass Bump
French producer 4bstr4ck3r released a sweet little EP called Bass Bump on the Street Ritual label this week. Four tight tracks create this fun EP, representing the creative and funky nature of Street Ritual’s artists.
4bstr4ck3r is a french producer who self-proclaims to create uplifting broken beat music. This is a very apt description of his tracks. They have a tantalizingly different amalgamation of sounds, yet they are upbeat and easy to relate to.
“Bass Bump” is the first and title track of the record. This piece has a bouncy almost Opiuo-like quality. It definitely encompasses the upbeat energy that he strives for. “6th Sens” incorporates a larger variety of sounds and brings in that psychedelic feel that so many Street Ritual artists have mastered. “Mutant Swing Wiggle” is undoubtedly my favorite track. It’s beautifully stuck somewhere between cartoon soundtrack and electro-swing. It’s a completely adorable track that I love head bobbing to. The EP resolves with “Eastern Fantasy” which brings a darker tone into the album. It starts out with mysterious synths and is perpetuated by a super funky percussion rhythm.
