On Sunday, August 16th the one and only Dirtybird Records will be setting up shop and getting down in Williamsburg for their annual Dirtybird BBQ presented by MeanRed Productions! Tickets for Sunday’s event are very limited so make sure to grab yours here. If the recap videos from the Portland and Seattle cookouts are any proof, then this Sunday is about to be wild! We’ve compiled the top 5 reasons why you need to be at the Brooklyn Dirtybird BBQ.
Summer Is Winding Down (Unfortunately)
I think it’s safe to say that the summer 2015 has been a pretty wild ride. With more festivals than ever popping up out of nowhere and established events pushing their production to the limits, this summer has been full of some absolutely massive shows and events. The inevitable end of summer is approaching and we’re already about halfway though August. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for those crisp autumn days of September but I’m also going to miss all the carnage of summer past. So in light of that we need to make sure to milk every last drop of sunshine we have left.
Sick Location and Awesome Crowd
The Dirtybird BBQ will be returning to its home in Williamsburg at the Brooklyn Industrial Waterfront. This sun soaked locale is the perfect spot to get down and enjoy the last bit of summer while taking in views of Manhattan and enjoying a cool breeze wafting in from the East River. Also fans of the Dirtybird crew just happen to be some of the sexiest, musically savvy and good natured folks that you will find in dance music. Speaking from experience, the Dirtybird BBQ always seems to bring an atmosphere of laid-back, no-frills fun reminiscent of a summer time family cookout.
If you are ingratiated with the Dirtybird way then you know just how good every set on Sunday is about to be. If you are a little less privy, then imagine a day long dance party, full of enticing basslines, infectious percussion and an all around bad-ass attitude. That’s what these diabolical beathsmits are all about. The Dirtybird brood are some of the most unique and innovative artists that you will com across in the world of house. They have a perfectly formula for making the audience move and with Claude VonStroke, Shiba San, J. Philip, Kill Frenzy, Justin Martin and special guest Slick Rick turning the dials you know it’s going to be one to remember.
This entry, like the previous one, should honestly be self explanatory – I mean it’s all in the event title. However, it is worth mentioning just how on point the grub at this event is going to be. DIRTYBIRD BBQ auteur Grill$on will be stoking the flames and saucing the meats on Sunday, ensuring that every dish will be as vibrant and vivacious as the tunes.
This Marks Dirtybird’s Records 10 Year Anniversary
This year Dirtybird Records will be celebrating a huge milestone after enjoying more than 10 successful years as taste-makers and innovators of experimental electronic music. Claude VonStroke and his battalion of brazen beat-makers embody everything that is going right for the electronic music community. This label has never forfeited vision or creativity for notoriety, and they have enjoyed a well-deserved run at the forefront of dance music because of it. This year’s Dirtybird BBQ isn’t just a simple show with a collection of DJs performing one after the other, this is a testament to the entire Dirtybird family and an opportunity to be a part of something huge.
