A Little Bit About Tommy Trash at The Mid 4/16/15
The Mid in Chicago brings some of the best DJs from around the world to its stage. Truly a club setting, the Mid is both swanky and sweaty. For those who love the music, the Mid’s size makes every show an intimate experience between you and the DJ. For those who just want to dance to music other people are willing to pay for, snag some bottle service, and wait for the sparklers to be hand delivered with your champagne, the Mid has you covered there too. The Mid may not be a place for those on a tight drink budget, but the music is worth putting on your heels and little black dress for.
Tommy Trash is a great reason to head anywhere. Whether he’s performing at a club like the Mid with a dress code or in a back alley with a broken speaker, you’re guaranteed to smile and get exhausted from dancing. This night opened with Wax Motif. He played his awesome disco beats to get the crowd really warmed up. Once Tommy came to the stage, though, his energy filled the venue. Although it could have been the confetti and CO2 cannon that blasted the room with his first drop, The Mid was suddenly alive. Unfortunately for Wax Motif, Tommy Trash completely blew him out of the water in one swoop. The music was louder, the bass was heavier, the songs were seamless, and the night seemed endless. Anything that came before his set was completely forgotten as Tommy Trash laid down his tracks. This DJ set never lost steam as the music cascaded through originals and remixes. Trash’s set started around 1 AM and didn’t end until they kicked everyone out at 4. It was hard to get people to leave the dance floor as long as Tommy was still in sight.
Every time Tommy Trash is on stage, it’s clear that he loves what he does. His smile goes from ear to ear, even if his hair is covering the whole of his face. His name will continue to stand out as an international DJ and producer who excels in making people want to dance.
