Amazing African Tribal Star Wars Cover of Adele’s Hello
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. You are about to embark on a Star Wars: The Force Awakens-themed African Tribal cover of Adele‘s smash hit “Hello.” The genius behind this aggravation of everyone’s favorite things, Star Wars and Adele, is British-American actor and singer Alex Boye. Boye is best known for his stunning YouTube releases of covers of popular songs like “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen with a subtle but palpable African twist, which have garnered over 124 million views on YouTube.
Already over one and a half million people have viewed Boye’s interpretation of “Hello” since its release in December of 2015. Like many other Africanized versions of hit songs, Boye gives the same treatment to “Hello” but with a Star Wars twist. Boye notes similarities between himself and Star Wars actor John Boyega, who he parodies in his video as Stormtrooper Finn; both are from London, England and both were born to Nigerian parents giving them similar accents and inflection, not to mention the similarity of their last names both encompassing “Boye.”
Now sit back and relax and watch a tasteful combination of some of the best things to happen to the world in 2015, Adele and Star Wars.
