Arthur Moon Premieres New Video For “Wind Up”
After releasing an ethereal and worldly EP a few weeks ago, Arthur Moon has taken to releasing a haunting video for “Wind Up.” Directing the music video is Sam B Jones, who directed Le1f’s “Wut” music video in 2012. Though this time, Jones helped craft an artistic and haunting black and white video for the sextet’s lead single. Choreographer Evvie Allison helped create intricate movements that follow along with the music with several dancers’ motion being in sync with each other — giving rise to a noir effect. As the video continues on and the music reaches an uptempo, the dancers’ movement become spastic almost as if it’s too much to be contained and relegated to fluid motions.
As mentioned in our review, vocalist Lora-Faye Ashuvud detailed that the lyrics for the first single from Our Head was about an injured bird recuperating and having her various body parts replaced by mechanical parts until she is no longer an organic being. Placed over Lora-Faye’s angelic vocals is quotes from philosopher Ivan Illich, remarking that “medical treatment is mistaken for healthcare” — adding to the moving story Arthur Moon has told.
