Attention Funk Fools! Get Ready for Fool’s Paradise

Listen up, Fools! Lettuce announced yesterday that they will be joining forces with Purple Hatters Productions and Live for Live Music to put on a “funk-fueled beach extravaganza” in St. Augustine, FL on April Fool’s Day. As of now, Fool’s Paradise has lined up Lettuce, GRiZ, Chris Robinson’s Soul Revue ft. George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Nikki Glaspie and Eric Kraso, Vulfpeck, Goldfish, and The Nth Power, with more bands and special guests to be announced, to converge on St. Augustine, FL on April 1-2 for a weekend of tomfoolery in the Florida sun. The two day event will be held at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, with late night shows planned for an off-site venue down the road.

As of now, the late line-up includes a Vulfpeck with Break Science show on April 1 and Goldfish with Fools of Funk teaming up the following evening, with additional guests to be announced in the coming weeks, to be sure.

According to the official website, in addition to two full days of hot funk, the event will include “artist-led excursions, musical workshops, and explorative activities.” So, if two days of funky beach parties is not enough for you, maybe you’d be interested in a shell-hunting expedition with Jesus, or a tour of Castillo De San Marcos led by Ivan Neville? Full disclosure, no “artist excursions” have been announced yet, but I would like to officially submit the aforementioned ideas to the powers that be.

We were pretty devastated by last year’s cancellation of funk’s favorite festival, Bear Creek Music and Art Festival (R.I.P), but Fool’s Paradise looks like it might just be the Lettuce-sized funk-patch we have been hoping for to fill the void.

As always, we will be keeping you updated with artist features and event updates. Check out the official website for more information, including tickets, and hotel and camping details.
