Aura Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Papadosio
Now in its third year, the Aura Music & Arts Festival in St. Cloud, Florida has quickly become one of the preeminent destinations for fans and bands alike. Profiled below is the second of three of our favorite bands that are hitting the stage at Aura:
Papadosio (2 Sets):
For the past 5 years, Papadosio has been touring nearly nonstop, quickly rising through the ranks of the electronic scene. This five-piece band from Athens, Ohio, plays a unique brand of live electronic music, which blends so many genres and styles that they create their own sound, featuring layered harmonies on top of intricate melodies to create a distinct sound. This sound is made up of a strong influence from Lotus to go along with many of their own. With two albums and an EP under their belt, the band typifies the endless tour, crisscrossing the country multiple times last year, culminating in a New Years Eve blowout with The Werks at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. Currently on their Awake Inside tour which takes them through the whole East Coast along with parts of the upper Midwest, before culminating in their performance at the Aura festival. This is the band’s third trip to St. Cloud for Aura, and has produced some of their musical highlights at this festival. Check out their set from the first Aura Festival in 2010 here. The band is slated to play two sets at the festival and is certainly a band to check out at the festival and in the future as this band has a bright future.
Overall, this event has become a mainstay of the spring festival season, and its move to March provides optimal weather conditions for campers and festivalgoers alike in the bucolic setting of Forever Florida in St. Cloud. Tickets for this great event are $90 if you purchase ahead and $115 at the gate and can be found here. Be sure to check out the three bands listed above as well as the more than three-dozen other bands playing throughout the course of the weekend.
