Battle For A Chance to DJ At Backwoods Music Festival
If you don’t love house music or DJing, then this is really not for you. Backwoods Music Festival is currently hosting a competition, where those who do DJ can battle for a spot on the festival’s line up. Entering is easy, where you simply fill out a form detailing your basic information as well as your DJing alias, links to various social media, and if chosen, which city (Austin, Dallas, Fayetteville, Springfield, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa) you’re willing to play in. From there, your initial set entry must be at least 20 minutes long and if chosen for the next round, the set must be thirty minutes long. Judging takes place in a combination of ballots, judges and the crowd. Entries are open starting now until June 30th. Online voting commences July 1st until the 14th.
The only genres allowed are: house, deep house, progressive house, tech house, ambient, psy trance, deep trance, deep dub and no mainstream EDM, hard dubstep or trap.
Those entering may do well to show up thirty minutes early. If you’re fifteen minutes late, you are disqualified from competing and needless to say, do not use a pre-recorded set. DJs must also supply their own equipment.
To the future winner of the competition, we hope to see you there!
