Binghamtronica Music and Arts Festival
Once a year, usually around this point, I start getting that festival itch, that nagging voice in the back of my head longing for a lineup or two to be released. However, this year it hit me: I don’t have to wait until June to get my festy fill! It’s time to get amped for Binghamton University’s loudest unaffiliated event to date, Binghamtronica Music and Arts Festival! Entering its third year, this music extravaganza has evolved from an underground basement rave to an all out, on-campus music festival.
After just three short years, Binghamtronica has become THE event to look forward to for those whose idea of a party isn’t shoving themselves into overly crowded bars only to be bombarded by Top 40 hits so loud that they can hardly hear their own thoughts. In true festival fashion, there will be vendors, informational booths, and interactive art pieces throughout the venue. Past performances have included InkLine, SOLARiS, Horizon Wireless, Jeff Bujak, and Brothers Past. This medley of genres encompasses a wide range of musical tastes, ranging from dubstep to trance, from electrohouse to jamtronica. In turn, it sets the stage for an extremely diverse crowd, with each member bringing something unique to the creative collective.
In making Binghamtronica a multimedia, multisensory event, we hope to open the eyes, the minds, and the hearts of attendees to the true essence of a musical gathering, to the power of an engaged collective. This exotic blend of dirty beats, encapsulating art installations, and plain old positive energy promises to make this Binghamtronica the biggest, most successful one yet, so come ready to rage appropriately on 3/24/2012 folks – this one’s going to be crazy!
