Biweekly Playlist: Summer Sun
Every summer needs a soundtrack. Scratch that, every summer moment needs a soundtrack. Since we’re almost halfway through the most exciting time of year (at least for those of us living in cities better known for their snow than beaches), I decided to craft the perfect playlist for an afternoon in the sun.
This week’s playlist, the first of many to come, is all about having fun and bringing back that festival experience for a brief moment no matter where you happen to be at the time. On it you’ll find kickass new releases like deadmau5’s “Seeya” and Above & Beyond’s “Blue Sky Action,” along with festival strongholds like “Never Say Never” by Basement Jaxx and “How You Love Me” by 3LAU.
If that’s not enough to get you dancing, you clearly need a music re-education, but might also find excitement in “Keep Moving Out,” the new soon-to-be anthem courtesy of Sultan + Ned Shepard vs. The Boxer Rebellion. Or maybe Sick Individuals’ “Wasting Moonlight” is more up your alley, if you like things a bit more intense.
Also on the list is my favorite remix of Zedd’s “Find You” from the ever-energetic Tritonal, along with Seven Lions newest collab with Ellie Goulding, “Don’t Leave” and “The Light” by Armada Music’s rising stars The Disco Fries, featuring Niko the Kid.
Summer may be flying by, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy it. So grab some friends and some speakers, and throw on the Summer Sun Playlist.
