Brooklyn Assembly Steps Up For The Community 9/23/17
In today’s current political climate it is more important than ever for communities to band together in order to make real change. The powers that be have shown time and again a clear disregard for the people that make up the towns and cities of this nation. Therefore when an event like Brooklyn Assembly comes along, it is extremely important that we get out there and show support. On September 23 Brooklyn Assembly will take place at The Paper Box and will feature a myriad of musicians, live artists, vendors, activations, and more. $5 of each $10 ticket at the 500 person event will be donated to one of four causes directly benefitting the local Brooklyn community. Attendees will also be voting via ballots to dictate which charity they’d like to see their ticket donation go to, directly empowering them to give to a cause of their choice. This will also provide invaluable data on what subjects are actually close to hearts of Brooklynites. This is going to be a block party like you’ve never seen.
Events like this are crucial to the betterment of not only Brooklyn and New York but the country as a whole. Grassroots activism is the way forward to a better and more united future. The yet to be announced line-up will so far include up and coming and established Brooklyn talents live acts and DJs: Siimba Liives Long, TJ Mizell (Doperoots / A$AP Ferg), April Fool Child, Googie, S’NATRA M!NT, Ted Park, Dylan St. John, T-GUT, Boston Chery, Y3lda, Magdalena, and more acts being booked as we speak.
This is not only going to be a great celebration of culture and diversity but it will also be an event that will bring about palpable change and improvements in our community. It is not every day that something like this gets put together and for those of you who watch the news or listen to NPR and think “I need to do something, anything to make a difference” Brooklyn Assembly is the perfect way to do that while also enjoying yourself.
