Buku Music & Art Project in New Orleans Announces Initial Lineup
Flaming Lips and Bone Thugs and dubstep, oh my! What began as a tiny electronic music festival in the Big Easy just two years ago has now escalated into one of the most eclectic smaller fests out there. While Buku Music & Art Project headliners still remain largely in the EDM sector, with highlights including David Guetta and Kaskade, this year’s lineup has expanded to include everything from old school rap to jamtronica to bounce, and everything in between.
Some other cool things about this fest:
- It’s in New Orleans. So, yeah.
- Partially held at Mardi Gras World, where the Mardi Gras floats live year-round when not in use. Not a bad place for a party!
- In addition to the music there is a large focus on art and promoting local NOLA artists, as well as unique art installations around the premises, all for your enjoyment.
- NOLA food. ‘Nuff said.
- If you’ve ever been to New Orleans, you don’t need to be convinced of a reason to go. And if you haven’t, what the hell are you waiting for?!?!
They’ve even made some cute animation to go along with this initial (keyword initial — way more to come!) lineup announcement. Check it out!
The festival will be held March 21-22, 2014. General Admission tickets are now on sale for $169.50 (2-day pass), or splurge for VIP tickets for $399.50. There are also several travel packages available through CID. Explore all your options here!
