BUKU Track of the Week – CloZee “Secret Place”
BUKU Music & Art Project is right around the corner. With a diverse lineup, the festival has a little something for everyone. Artists come from all over the world to bring their own special brand to the festival. One artist we’ve come to adore hails from Toulouse, France and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table. Her name is CloZee and she is a breath of fresh air. For the start of our new Track of the Week series, we’d like to showcase CloZee’s “Secret Place.”
Opening with a slow choir of strings mixed with an energetic pan flute performance, “Secret Place” takes the listener a new world. As the track builds, the beat comes in with a melding of cultures and sounds filling the listener with the urge to sway from side to side. The flute continues to bounce around the beat with a haunting melody sure to be an earworm for the day. As the song reaches its peak, the bass takes over. It plays its own dark eclectic rhythm perpendicular to the smoothness of the strings. Then, the track nears the end and the flute speaks to the listener in one final melodic chorus. “Secret Place” truly takes the listener to a hidden hideaway where one can let loose and dance like no one is watching.
CloZee is hailed as one of the best world bass music artists out there today by her fans. She brings a huge repertoire of sounds and instruments to her music. She utilizes bird chirps and sounds of running water like they are their own instruments. Her songs never fail to impress. Check out “Secret Place” below and be sure to catch her set at BUKU Music & Art Project March 9 & 10, 2018 at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans.
