Chrystyna Marie Brings New “LIFE” With Latest EP
Originally hailing from Toronto, Chrystyna Marie is a firebrand vocalist whose unique style and powder keg voice makes her an intriguing up-and-coming artist to keep an eye on. Mixing together a delightful cocktail of grungy blues and pop, Chrystyna has an enigmatic sound all her own. Now Chrystyna is ready to plant her flag with her new EP entitled, Life.
The classically trained Canadian-born singer has supported Ontario acts and has also been featured as a demo singer on indie labels from as young as 18 years old. Chrystyna’s love of music has blossomed into a life of adventure which includes taking first place in various categories in the Kiwanis Music Festival 2 years in a row, roles in community plays like West Side Story as Maria and Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Over the years, she has racked up a long list of smaller roles in music videos, television and was also the lead singer in an LA founded pop group called Greencat. Writing and releasing her own music, with her own unique voice, however, is where her true passion lies.
Chrystyna’s deep love of the classics but appreciation for modern sounds gives her the ability to find musical inspiration in everyone from Janis Joplin, Ottis Redding and Etta James to Selena and Christina Aguilera.
In her newest EP LIFE, Chrystyna gives her listeners an eclectic collection of powerful tracks. Lead single “I want that boom boom” is a raucous entry into Chrystyna’s style.
Speaking of her personal sound Chrystyna says ” Breath is life, and life is music. I wanted to create music from personal experiences and true emotions. Something the everyday person can relate to and build strength from having been exposed to it. With a raw and gritty feel to emulate these experiences and emotions.”
Chrystyna’s 2017 full-length debut LIFE, finds her realizing her using her old school blues rock inspiration as the basis of her intriguing sonic appeal. LIFE bubbles with a rock n roll attitude and pop sensibility which Chrystynabeautifullyifullyy. An independent artist to be sure, Chrystyna spent the last 3 years working construction 7 days a week and living in the fields of ND and the forests of PA to afford to record music on her own terms. At times Joyful, mournful, and empowering this album is a journey through the restless consciousness of a true artist.
