Confession Track of the Week – Matroda & Dillon Nathaniel “No Doubt”
Tchami is one of our favorite producers. He has turned house music on its head to create a dark, sinister sound. His infectious grooves are not alone, so he created CONFESSION Records. The label showcases artists selected by Tchami and all are unique in their own way. We caught wind of Confession artists Matroda and Dillon Nathaniel the other day. The two teamed up for this week’s Track of the Week “No Doubt” which dropped on Friday.
“No Doubt” starts with an ordinary house beat and the listener is fooled into thinking that this track is for the usual dance floor. As the track picks up, one can hear the darker undertones begin to build. Broken vocal samples in a low voice plague the listener as the song builds to its intense and heavy drop. Matroda and Nathaniel take the listener on a dark journey as the house rhythm continues with a deep bass and unique downbeat play. The sound design is on point in “No Doubt” as the listener hears sounds unnatural to this world. This song is no doubt hitting the darkest of dance floors this fall. Pun intended.
“This is the heaviest record I’ve made to date, to me it sounds like if a Werewolf and a Chupacabra wrestled it out and made a baby in the meantime. Matroda and I had an absolute blast making this one. We can’t thank Tchami and Malaa enough for all of the support they’ve shown us and the record. We can’t wait for all of the CONFESSION fans to be bumping this one LOUD!” – Dillon Nathaniel
