Every so often, a lineup of bands blows you away so much that without batting an eye, you purchase tickets without regard to date, time, or location, as you will travel any distance in order to go to the show. When you see that the Crimson ProjecKt, a pair of bands made up of Adrien Belew’s Power Trio and the Stick Men, as well as a set of both playing together, you know that will be something special. Then you scroll down and find out that playing with these two monster bands is Consider the Source, you drop everything and buy tickets. On Tuesday, July 17th at the Beekman Beer Garden, the audience’s collective minds will be blown away by these three bands.
Since coming on the scene at the beginning of the 21st century, this self-proclaimed “Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk” band has rocked audiences up and down the east coast. Drawing major influences from bands such as Tool, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and King Crimson, Consider the Source shows no signs of slowing up as their audiences have begun to swell in size. Featuring Gabriel Marin on fret-less double-neck guitar, John Ferarra on bass, and new member Louis Miller on drums and percussion, the band has recently been performing at their peak, really meshing with Miller over the past few months as they have hit the road harder than ever.
The band recently released a live album,F**k It, We’ll Do It Live, which they had originally sold only on the road; however, due to outstanding sales, the band has chosen to distribute it everywhere. Upcoming for the band is a tour of Germany with Panzerballett, as well as international shows in France and Israel. The band also has more domestic dates scheduled, such as a headlining date at MazFest and club shows around the Mid-Atlantic.
