Darin Epsilon’s Triple Threat on Beatport’s Top 100
Drum roll please and spotlight on Darin Epsilon. This week, the 31-year old Chicago native and Los Angeles transplant has three tracks posting up on Beatport’s Top 100. As an internationally acclaimed DJ, producer and radio host, Epsilon proves his passion has paid off in the world of progressive and techno house.
If that accomplishment were not impressive enough, he produces under his own record label Perspectives Digital and also hosts Perspectives radio, reaching thousands of house fans every week. Recently, his SoundCloud account celebrated its hallmark 1 million plays. Beginning to dabble into the world of progressive house, I decided to take the Beatport Top 100 Epsilon tracks for a test drive.
Cid Inc. vs. Darin Epsilon “Outliers” sends me on a mysterious mission, venturing into unknown places with a sense of caution, but ultimately leading me safely back home. Epsilon’s remix of Omid 16B’s “Nu1” presents a positively driven, reliable bass pulse with an overall electro-organ feel. Finally, “Feel Right” featuring Amber Long takes center stage with haunting, lounge vocals resting atop the perfect Epsilon flow. Culminating just over three minutes, the tracks dreamy vocals gently set me back into reality asking “Don’t you feel right? Yea.”
When he is not making his voice heard on Perspective radio, Darin Epsilon can be found spreading his infectious gift headlining festivals such as White Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland and Ultra Music Festival. He cites a variety of influential figures such as Paul Oakenfold and Sasha & Digweed; rightfully so, being named one of the winners of the summer 2011 John Digweed & Beatport’s DJ Competition. His music can also be heard throughout scenes in films Ecstasy and Slip Cue.
His tracks earn him the title Triple Threat this week on Beatport’s Top 100. Referred to by many fans as a leader of the progressive and tech house scene seems to be a natural fit, especially considering this house enigma is just launching his promising career.
