Dear Nicholas “Pumpkin” Alvarado,
Thank you for the beautiful music you have created for all of us. Thank you for always smiling, always dancing, and always throwing your hands into a heart shape to remind us that love, dancing, and smiling are some of the most important facets of life. Thank you for remixing and mixing some of our favorite songs into something that we could dance to all night. Thank you for putting your own unique spin on everything that you created because when you were in the room, no one was having more fun than you. Thank you for welcoming the sunrise with us at all of our favorite festivals. Thank you for always interacting with your fans. Thank you for treating everyone like a friend. Thank you for always reminding us to smile. Thank you for the music that we can listen to on the way to work, before bed, on a road trip, when we’re having a happy day, and when we’re having a shitty day. Thank you for giving us the energy to dance just a little bit longer. Thank you for always being your silly, authentic self. Thank you for always giving us a name to look forward to on that festival roster. Thank you for being truly committed to your art. Thank you for your incredibly infectious cheerfulness.
Most of all, thank you for being like a real-life faerie and sprinkling love, joy, and magic wherever it was that you went. Your music will live on forever and we will never forget the memories that we have shared with you or in your presence. The universe has gained another cosmic angel. We know you will still be spreading love wherever you are, even if we can’t see you.
