Dirtybird BBQ to make Florida Debut in Miami
For what feels like ages now, Florida has been a little bit delayed in the house music scene. It was as though we were all but sitting idly by, watching places like California and Colorado get all of the love from the biggest collective in tech-house, the Dirtybird record label. But come December, those of us who dig those deep, funky grooves are finally getting our big break – the Dirtybird concert series is coming to Miami for a day full of bodacious eats and beats at the Dirtybird BBQ.
Taking place December 3rd from 2:30-10 pm, this event will be held at Smashed Canvas in the wildly creative district of Wynwood. What’s even more thrilling is that it falls right in the middle of Art Basel, an interactive art and music gathering in Wynwood. Lets be real – getting down on some mouth-watering meats and being serenaded by some of the most renowned artists in the dance music scene is pretty much the American dream.
Dirtybird and Mean Red have curated a stellar lineup for the BBQ that’s sure to satiate all of your shuffling cravings, at least until the holidays are over. DB label founder Claude VonStroke, J.Phlip, Kill Frenzy, Christian Martin, Walker & Royce, and special guest Justin Martin will be throwing down the boots n’ pants all day long. Attendees will even have a chance to show off their more competitive sides with the addition of “Best in Show” contests and carnival games for a special county fair twist.
It’s no secret that the Dirtybird masterminds know how to throw a seriously kick-ass party, so it’s normal to assume that this shindig is going to be just like any other DB show you’ve attended. However, that isn’t the case at all; this all-day cookout truly resembles a family gathering in all senses of the term. Rather than your typical setting where everyone and their brothers are trying to get backstage to meet the stars of the show, you’re actively dancing in a crowd where your favorite DB artists are mingling with the fans in the crowd and chowing down in a relaxed, laid-back environment. If you’re not sold on the idea of sharing a pulled pork sandwich with the outrageously sexy J.Phlip, that’s on your conscience, not mine.
