Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked Washes Ashore On PS4 & Xbox One This Spring
I’ve spent the last few months playing what has now become one of my favorite games — Don’t Starve. While I patiently await the arrival of the multiplayer version (Don’t Starve Together) for consoles, it seems Klei Entertainment have taken to announcing Shipwrecked will be making waves later this spring. To be quite honest, I am genuinely pumped. I’ve put in hours playing the console edition of Don’t Starve and its DLC, Reign of Giants. With Shipwrecked washing ashore this spring, I can guarantee some excellent playthrough as its PC counterpart recently left Early Access.
Klei gave Capybara Games the opportunity to expand its franchise, giving gamers a run for their money as they tried to survive in a new world — one that included sandy beaches as well as monsoons, volcanic meteor showers, turning a dream vacation into hell. With new biomes came new creatures such as crabbits, the Quaken, and the adorable dogfish. Yes, these are absurd names, but they give a certain characteristic that’s been missing in video games for a while. With a new way to survive a tropical destination, Shipwrecked will definitely induce a few nights of fun and rage.
For fans of the series, Klei announced last week that Don’t Starve Together will be leaving Early Access on April 21st! This particular installment has been in Early Access for quite some time, though Klei has promised many new features will be included such as the addition of Maxwell, hosting the caves will be easier, and mandrakes! Who doesn’t love mandrakes?! With so much happening for the PC world, we are looking forward to the console version of DST making its debut later this year.
