Dorfex Bos Dominates Incendia at Okeechobee 2018
If you attended the third iteration of Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, a cultural haven nestled deep within nature’s cradle in Okeechobee, FL, odds are you found yourself drawn to the fiery essence of the traveling production known as the Incendia Stage. If this is correct, and hopefully it is, you witnessed hot fire (literally) from a multitude of musicians during late-night sessions amidst an intimate setting. One of the most climatic moments that occurred at this grassroots vibe stage was when Brooklyn-based wave maker Dorfex Bos dazzled Okeechobeings with his eclectic style and sound, entrancing the crowd from beginning to end.
The juxtaposition of the bone-chilling breeze with the blazing flames spewing with every drop created the ultimate setting for Producer Angelo Tursi , who has managed to merge the dreamy, downtempo side of bass music with celestial soundscapes, wielding an unmistakably mesmerizing form of dubstep that’s all its own. Although you might not see his name on the headlining row of festival lineups, don’t be mislead – Box was in such high demand from patrons of Okeechobee that he had to be relocated to the Incendia from a smaller stage as to make room for his fans, old and new. The massive crowd seemed to stretch for miles, from the hardcore headbangers gripping the railing to the freaks raging all the way in the back, and you can bet that this all original set will continue to be remembered for quite some time.
Taking us into the depths of the Portal with the outer-worldly “FREEK SON” as an intro instilled an ultra-trippy tone for the entire performance, and Tursi engrossed festival-goers with melodious and melancholy masterpieces like “TEEN $PIRIT” (w/ Vox) and “CYALAFALORA“.
Bos is no stranger to the intensity of Incendia, as he just recently serenaded a slew of partiers at Fractal Beach Festival in Virginia Key Beach Park, sharing the bill with names like Papadosio, Thriftworks, Zebbler Encanti Experience and many more. Having produced alongside revolutionary DJ/producer Bassnectar over the years, the two have established themselves as a picture-perfect duo with the release of songs such as a Bassnectar remix of the self-titled “Dorfex Bos”, and from the Reflective series “Other Worlds” and “Horizons”. These works have proved Bos as an unparalleled staple within the scene, and his alias is and will continue to be recognized far beyond boundaries of the EDM world. Didn’t get your fill of Dorfex at Okee? Don’t fret, because the freaks are flocking to Colorado for the return of Bassnectar’s Freestyle Sessions June 1st-3rd, and Bos will be brewing up some wild bass on Saturday the 2nd along with Nightmares on Wax and CharlesTheFirst. Keep an eye out for all things underground from Tursi, such as his upcoming self-released debut EP Opinions that drops on April 6th, by tuning into his Facebook for upcoming announcements and event dates.
