Electric Daisy Carnival – Orlando Photo Recap
After two days of high energy, the 5th annual EDC Orlando has come to a bittersweet close with approximately 65,000 fans filling the city’s historic Tinker Field, November 6 and 7. Sprawling across the newly renovated grounds, guests were transported into a vibrant world of creative art displays, thrilling carnival rides, almost 100 energetic costumed performers, and more than 50 world-renowned acts providing an unforgettable soundtrack to the kinecticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS and neonGARDEN stages.
As festivalgoers made their way through the gates each day, their RFID wristbands allowed for a seamless, ticket-free entry system and a “Daisy Dollar” cashless purchasing option once inside. Insomniac’s Ground Control team greeted fans at the entrance with festival guides, free water and a helping hand should they be lost or in need of assistance.
Passing through the gates of EDC Orlando, festivalgoers witnessed the first appearance of the modified Crystal Village stage at kineticFIELD, which debuted in its largest form at EDC Las Vegas this past June. Standing an impressive 100 feet tall and stretching over 230 feet wide, the structure tells a visual story of the Earth’s natural elements.
The stage’s unique design was enhanced by 10 flames of all colors, a smoke-fuming dragon, 400 lighting fixtures, two statuesque owls guarding a cascading waterfall, and 28 lasers illuminating the centerpiece crystal-like owl figurine. Momentous acts such as Calvin Harris, Tiësto, and Kaskade closed out each night with fan-favorite tracks and firework displays.
Across the crystal clear Lake Beardall stood the neonGARDEN stage. A tranquil, golden Buddha sat at the heart of the colorful structure, surrounded by 245 LED tiles across a scenic wooden façade. Here, legendary artists such as Paul Van Dyk, Gorgon City, Ferry Corsten and The Magician performed unforgettable sets over the weekend.
Circling neonGARDEN was the Crescent Blue art piece, a beautiful light blue canopy that doubled as the launching point for the 250-foot long zip line, whisking festivalgoers across the light-filled EDC grounds.
We look forward to seeing you at our first trance-only event, Dreamstate, on November 27 and 28 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. For our international friends in São Paulo, catch the debut of EDC Brazil on December 4 and 5 at the Autódromo de Interalgos.
