Electron Hits The Northeast This Week
Disco Biscuits side projects are a dime a dozen this summer with Conspirator, DrFameus and Kick Rocks all putting in time on stages across the country, but perhaps no run is more anticipated than the return of Electron, the killer combo of Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits, Tom Hamilton of Brothers Past, and Mike Greenfield of Lotus replacing Joe Russo for this go-round.
Electron has spawned such Biscuits staples as the rock opera “Chemical Warfare Brigade,” as well as stellar versions of favorites like “Plan B” and “Home Again.” The Philadelphia players are no strangers to cross-pollination. The Biscuits and Brothers Past have collaborated in various configurations for many years, most recently at the Feed The Rocks after party where Aron and Allen jammed with Tommy and Clay Parnell until the break of dawn and Mike Greenfield may be involved in more Biscuits side projects than the actual band members.
The mini tour was first announced on April 23 on Mark Brownstein’s Facebook page:
The tour will be short and sweet, hitting Baltimore, West Chester, New York and New Haven, but perhaps some more dates will pop up over the summer. One can dream.
