Electron Hits the Northeast Next Week; Stream Their Catskill Chill Set Now
Coming off a stellar set from last month’s Catskill Chill Music Festival (which can be streamed in its entirety below), the jam rock super group Electron is set to bring their high wire act to select venues in the Northeast next week. The tour starts Wednesday in D.C., then swings up through New Haven for a quality pairing with fellow trancefusion titans The Indobox, before a Friday STS9 after party with Horizon Wireless at B.B. King’s Blues Club, and closing out Sunday in Syracuse. A previously scheduled gig in Philly was postponed until next year in favor of a weekend hometown throwdown for the 9-5’ers. The group’s only other scheduled gig will come later this month with Particle at a pre-party for String Cheese Incident’s Hulaween extravaganza in Live Oak Florida. Electron features Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of the Disco Biscuits on bass and keys; Mike Greenfield of Lotus on drums; and guitarist Tom Hamilton of Brothers Past, American Babies, and more Grateful Dead tributes than you can shake a stick at. Electron’s set lists draw heavily from Biscuits tunes with some Floyd and a dose of Dead mixed in. Their Chill set was a solid contender for best in show at one of the better festivals of the summer. 10/15 – Washington, DC @ Howard Theatre TIX 10/16 – New Haven, CT @ Toad’s Place TIX 10/17 – New York, NY @ BB Kings TIX 10/18 – Syracuse, NY @ Westcott Theatre TIX 10/30 – Live Oak, FL @ Suwannee Hulaween Pre-Party TIX Click HERE for limited no-fee BB King Blues Club tickets.
