Elements Festival Goes Beyond the Music with Must-See Art and Technology
Elements Music and Art Festival returns to New York City this Saturday, August 11 in Hunts Point, Bronx.
This year, the festival celebrates its fifth anniversary with an impressive musical lineup including Bassnectar, Desert Dwellers and Snakehips.
Taking place this weekend, the festival is set to go beyond the music with a stacked roster of not only incredible music – but expert-curated production design, immersive art installations, visionary technology, interactive performances and additional talent that’s not to be missed.
Here’s a glimpse at what’s in store:
‘Art of the Future’
This year, Elements NYC will introduce ‘Art of the Future’ – an immersive experience featuring tech-driven art installations from 14 different artists.
The installations will include LED lights, large-scale projection mapping, augmented reality, CNC design, and sensor-based technology that responds to touch and one’s heart beat. (Yes, your heart beat.)
After wowing attendees with exceptional decor at Elements Lakewood, the fest’s creative team led by Julianne Irene has since collaborated with 30+ artists to take part in the production this weekend. The final product? A complete transformation of Hunts Point – from an industrialized waterfront to an interactive playground that not only captivates, but begs to be explored.
Fans will be impressed by various climbable structures throughout the grounds as well as the Lotus Art Car by Eagle Rock Studios. Other installations include an alien garden known as the ‘Galactic Green House,’ and ‘Pipe Dreams’ – a dark cosmic peep show hidden inside of a silo.
Other decor that’s sure to impress includes controlled pyro action at the Fire Stage and psychedelic, alien-styled trees growing throughout the Earth Stage created by Chateau Brooklyn. Bringing all five art cars from the Lakewood site, the iconic Elements Pirate Ship last seen sailing in Pennsylvania will drop the anchor on land, serving as the Water Stage.
Numerous performers will roam the grounds including Team Kitty Koalition comprised of gogo and choreo dancers, stilt walkers, aerialists, fire, LED performers and thrilling over the top circus antics and jaw-dropping dance numbers with Fou Fou Ha.
Carnival Games + Festival Food
What’s any outdoor festival without some classic recreation on the lawn? Elements NYC attendees can test their skills at knocking down targets at The Wet Paint Pitch, drop it like it’s hot at The Bass Drop vertical target game and after dark, and join in on a glow-in-the-dark Champagne Ring-Toss. For those needing to refuel, a plethora of food vendors on site will cater to every palate with options varying from tacos to burgers, Thai, Mediterranean, vegan rolls, lobster rolls and slushies. Water refill stations will also be plentiful.
Wellness, Workshops, and More
Keeping health and wellness in mind, Elements will also host an abundance of workshops, bass yoga, sound healing, meditation and much more making this one of the most diverse and engaging festival experiences to hit the East Coast this year.
