Elements NYC Track of the Day: ‘No One Has To Know’ by GoldFish
Hailing from the southern tip of Africa, electronic duo GoldFish have managed to captivate millions of fans across the globe with their infectious dance music. Featuring elements of jazz, African and feel-good electronic – GoldFish has created an original sound and style of their own that’s led to countless sold-out performances and award-winning albums.
Comprised of Dominic Peters and David Poole, the Cape Town natives have now released five successful albums and performed countless live shows all over the world, making it very apparent that their unique style and charming sound isn’t slowing down anytime soon. This upcoming Saturday, August 11th, GoldFish will take their talents to The Big Apple to play a set at Elements Music and Arts Festival in Hunts Point, Bronx.
In honor of GoldFish and their upcoming local performance, ‘No One Has to Know’ is deemed today’s track of the day off their most recent album, Late Night People. Featuring the smooth vocals of Ashlyn Wilson, ‘No One Has To Know’ is a steady-progressing banger that builds up strong before hitting you right in the feels.
Starting out light and minimal, the track showcases a nice array of acoustics, simple backbeats and cute lyrics that are both easy-listening and just, well… straight up happy. Eventually building up around halfway through, GoldFish then flawlessly incorporates their trademark saxophone with a heavier drop and empowering instrumentals that remain present for the remainder of the track.
For GoldFish, ‘No One has to Know’ is just another example of their original talent and ability to produce a quality track regardless of simplicity. For listeners, the tune ultimately succeeds in hitting that “sweet spot” that we as music enthusiasts have reserved within us for those feel-good tracks that you just can’t help but smile about.
Do yourself a favor and set a couple minutes aside to treat your eardrums to this sunny jam – and be sure to experience GoldFish live this Saturday, August 11th at Elements Music and Art Festival’s Water Stage from 7 to 8:30 pm.
