Escaper Mesmerizes with Melodic Single Debut “Castles”
By definition, an “escaper” is one who escapes confinement. So, it comes with no surprise that Brooklyn’s next big thing, Escaper, has just debuted their single “Castles”, which breaks free from genre restraints and musical boundaries through a tidal wave of organic elements. This single, which was recorded at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY, truly sets the tone for the 5-piece instrumental band’s message.
Comprised of jazzy, psychedelic melodies and rich, soulful textures, “Castles” is a little bit of everything – smooth rock eases into high-energy tempos, and a climatic saxophone build-up makes this track even more irresistible.
Recently joining the Ropeadope Records roster, Escaper blends soaring melodies provided by Will Hanza (guitars) with funk-laced rhythms laid down by Andrew Nesbitt (drums) and Jay Giacomazzo. Weaving through this sound are the intricate yet lyrical textures of Adam Ahuja (keys) and Johnny Butler (sax).
Having recently just performed at the Brooklyn Bowl’s 20th anniversary celebration of Phish’s record “Billy Breathes” with groups such as Jimkata, Aqueous and more, Escaper is starting off strong and is surely on the path to popularity through their fusion of funk, rock, jazz and more.
