Euphoria Artist Spotlight: Henry + The Invisibles
Euphoria Music & Camping Festival is right around the corner, and they recently dropped the second round of artists. An exciting addition to the already epic lineup is Henry + The Invisibles. Yes, the name is crazy and awesome, but so is this dude (Henry). The Austin-based artist describes himself as “a one-man funk/soul band best known for electrifying audiences with high-energy dance music and explosive live performances.” Henry records live loops using his sultry voice, a Fender Stratocaster guitar, Fender PBass, a flux of keyboard/ synth sounds, drums, and percussion to create a musical wall of sound that would more than likely be mistaken for a 5-piece funk outfit if you were blindfolded.
Henry + The Invisibles’ music has the “grit of Sly & The Family Stone, the rhythmic syncopation of James Brown, and the guitar wizardry of Prince, yet has a unique and progressive modern original sound that is definitively Henry + The Invisibles.”
Recent soundcloud tracks
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this funk machine perform twice, and both times he did not disappoint. I was extremely surprised that ONE guy playing different instruments could produce such groovy tunes! Recently, Henry was featured on the Future Sound of London Compilation entitled A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble – a two CD 40+ track compilation including artists like Donovan, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Miles Davis. Be sure not to miss Henry + The Invisibles at Euphoria Camping and Music Festival this year!
