Galactic To Showcase Vocalist Erica Falls This Month in Philadelphia

Put your dancing shoes on, folks, because the NOLA funk-fusion masters who go by the name Galactic return to Philadelphia this month to play the Electric Factory and, as this band loves shaking it up, they will have fresh vocals on board. If you caught them last February at the Electric Factory, you may remember the sinfully soulful sound and electrifying stage presence of fellow New Orleans musician Maggie Koerner. This time, another NOLA-bred musician, jazz singer Erica Falls, joins the band for their current tour after having sung vocals for the band’s newest (yet-to-be-released) album (as did Koerner). If the band’s history is any indicator, fans will likely see both new takes on some of the band’s older lyrical tunes as well as covers and new tracks featuring Falls’ powerful pipes. Bringing Falls on for this tour has the dual benefit of giving a highly talented New Orleans musician some well-deserved recognition, so come out and show her how we put the love in the City of Brotherly Love!

The Revivalists, another band straight out of the Big Easy, will open for the band. Given that the Revivalists’ front man David Shaw has lent his voice and presence to both Galactic’s live performances and recorded albums in the past, there’s a good chance more than one vocalist will appear with the band when they return to the Electric Factory in just a few weeks. With so many reasons to come out to the Electric Factory on March 26, the decision should be an easy one! You can find more information on the show and purchase your tickets here (if you buy your tickets through the band’s website at this link, you can save on service fees!).

If you are itching to get your Galactic fix in before the show, you can check out the band’s latest studio work here.  In the beginning of 2014 the band released its newest singles:  “Higher and Higher” featuring JJ Grey and “Dolla Diva” featuring Maggie Koerner and David Shaw.

Other upcoming shows include State College, Pittsburgh, Boston, and two nights in both NYC and DC.  Check out the band’s full tour schedule here.
