The third annual Glassfest will be held May 24th-27th in Corning, NY. Four days jammed packed full of fun for the whole family! The festivities will include Glassfest flame offs– hot glass shows in Centerway Square. Market Street will have fine arts vendors and exhibits. There will be historical walking tours all weekend long. Riverfont Centennial Park will light up the night with synchronized light shows. Music every day of the festival, with many local bands playing at night after Glassfest. Plus face paintings and inflatables for the kids to enjoy! Along with science shows, there will also be several information sessions devoted to glass.
Special for Thursday night, 2300 Degrees will kick off Glassfest festivities at the Corning Museum of Glass. Artist Paul Haigh will work with museum glass artists on the outdoor hot glass blowing stage. Music acts Makepeace Brothers and Gold Dust Lounge will perform. As always, 2300 Degrees is free and open to the public from 5:30-7:30.
Friday night will have wine and beer tasting, as well as a gallery hop on Market Street. Music by Virgil Cain in Riverfront Centennial Park during light up the night.
Saturday festivities start at 8:30 am in The War Memorial Stadium with an 8k marathon. Special music by the famous Journey tribute band DSB and Buford and the Smokin Section. For the first time at Glassfest, a special fireworks display will end the night.
For the final day, Sunday, there will be judging and awards presented for the Hot Glass Flame Off artists with music by Live Reunion and the Hepcats.
