Great Googly Moogly! It’s MOOGFEST
Moogfest is on the way. In fact, it’s right around the corner!
The annual five-day electronic musical festival — originally started in New York, but now enjoying balmy atmospheres in Asheville, North Carolina — is slated to run from Wednesday April 23rd to Sunday April 27th, 2014. Moogfest derives its unique name from Robert Arthur “Bob” Moog, the inventor of the Moog synthesizer and a founder of electronic music. Moogfest is a celebration of electronic music and the spirit of creativity and invention — and with a heritage like that, what’s not to love?
This festival already boasts an unreal lineup: Pet Shop Boys, Flying Lotus, M.I.A., and Mad Decent’s Dillon Francis. These headliners are only in addition to an already awesome set of musical acts led by three Kraftwerk 3D sets and CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers. The day and nighttime sets are jam-packed with huge names in the industry, which lends itself to a round-the-clock musical experience for all festival-goers. The daytime programming, which includes numerous panels and screenings, is already a huge opportunity for those present to experience it, and the breakdown of the festival in numbers is enough to draw any non-Moogly in: “5 days, 8 venues, over 60 talks, panels, discussion, presentations, and film screenings with futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, artists, and musicians.” What more could you ask for?
Literally nothing, because it seems as if Moogfest has it all.
There is a breakdown of night ($199) and day ($249) tickets, the far-better night/day deal ($299 for all programming), and the VIP package ($499.) Be sure to check out the details to decide which ticket best fits your needs. Either way, you are in for an incredible experience. Moogfest surely won’t disappoint.
