Head for the Hills Artist Spotlight: Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band
Next month Head For the Hills Music and Art Festival will return to the stunning Quiet Valley Ranch in Kerrville, Texas. The festival will span March 24-26 and will include lots of live music, art, workshops, food vendors, and so much more. Returning to the hills once again is the amazing funky crew of Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.
Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band is a five piece group consisting of: Mary Frances “Mama Funk” on keyboard, keytar, and vocals; Al Al “Sweet Nasty” Ingram on bass and vocals; Derrick “Dr Ock” Johnson on trombone; JP “Smoke Machine” Miller on guitar; and last but not least, Lee “Insta Funk” Allen on drums. Born in Boone, North Carolina, the band has gone through many incarnations and has now settled in as an ultimate one-stop-funk-shop.
Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band’s performance is more than just a show – it’s a funky, soul-filled, groovy, musical experience that you will not forget! Their stage presence is unlike any I’ve every experienced – from the outfits, to the lights, to everything in between – truly one of a kind. It is pretty much impossible to attend a show of theirs without getting into it and getting way the funk down. The energy is insane, the vocals are goosebumps inducing, and the jams are intoxicating.
