Hulaween Announces “Ghoul Train” Costume Contest
As we near the end of September and Fall steadily sets in, leaves will begin to turn any minute now, and pumpkin-flavored brews, sweet treats, and pretty much everything is already in full effect, whether you like it or not. All of these seasonal happenings can signal only one thing – Halloween is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate this spooky holiday than integrating all of the fun-filled Fall festivities with mind-blowing music and arts entertainment, all of which you can enjoy simultaneously at this year’s Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, FL.
Round three is approaching the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP), and excitement is arising for the most expansive and diverse lineup that both SCI’S Hulaween and Suwannee has ever seen. The 2015 lineup includes a plethora of EDM acts scattered amongst the usual jam-band/bluegrass/rock veterans that tend to dominate the Suwannee scene. The String Cheese Incident will be throwing down multiple sets per usual, as well as Pretty Lights, Odesza, STS9, GRiZ, Chance the Rapper, Lettuce and many many more. There will also be a Thursday pre-party that includes sets from Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Eoto, Dumpstaphunk and Herd of Watts. The full lineup is included below:
For those of you who are unaware, Hulaween is an event hosted by The String Cheese Incident (SCI) that prior to being held at the SOSMP was only a one-night event. When Hulaween first took place at Suwannee, it blossomed into a weekend-long extravaganza filled with multiple sets of SCI spanning over three days, which translates to a literal heaven for dedicated Cheese fans.
Each year there is an assigned theme to the festival, and you can choose to plan your costumes around this theme, do something entirely random, or not dress up at all, which is no fun. “Suwannee Hulaween is ecstatic to announce the #HulaweenFL costume theme as “Ghoul Train” (think the late 70′s early 80′s TV hit “Soul Train” x “Monsters” or “The Adams Family”)”, as seen on the festival’s site. In celebration of the theme, the Hula crew is giving away not one, but two pairs of GA tickets to whoever can represent the “Ghoul Train” theme the best through costume, which gives festival-goers a chance to embrace their creative and competitive sides for the ultimate prize. Those planning on submitting your best ‘fits will have until October 2nd, and must send pictures of the costumes to firstname.lastname@example.org. More information about the contest can be located through the Hulaween Facebook, and tickets are still available for purchase on the festival’s website.
