ill.Gate, Stylust Beats, Jantsen and More Added to Pass The Good Lineup
The fifth annual Pass The Good music and camping festival is just around the corner, and come September 23-25, Vortex Spring in the sunny state of Florida will host thousands of Florida bassheads and jammers alike, both partying for a purpose. As always, Pass The Good Entertainment has teamed up with Manna Food Pantries, an organization that works with the festival and invests the ticket proceeds that help feed over 42,000 people on the Gulf Coast every year.
Phase one and two for 2016 firmly reinstated this event’s ability to compose a balanced, diverse lineup that showcases the boundless genres from massive festival headliners to local up-and-comers alike. In addition to G.Jones, RUN DMT, Yheti, Hug Life, Bleep Bloop, Wick-It The Instigator, Vibe Street and more, PTG has just announced phase 3 for their fifth annual benefit – which includes headlining acts from ill.Gates, Stylust Beats, and Jantsen, plus additional supporting acts. Bringing the weird all the way from Toronto, ill.Gates has been on the EDM map for years, gaining serious recognition for his ingenious, methodical style of producing. Uniquely composed of glitchy bass, hip-hop, dubstep, and psychedelic tones, ill.Gate’s signature melody is intricate, raw yet refined, and downright hyphy. The Canadian-bred musician has helped revolutionize the EDM scene via his original releases and a slew of notable collaborations with artists such as Bassnectar, Excision, Beats Antique, and Mr. Bill to name a few. Gates has also become a well-known teacher of Ableton and various other tools and production software, including helpful tips and samples for up-and-coming producers, all available on his website. Gates has had reputable performances at renowned events such as Burning Man and Shambhala Music Festival, showing boundless amounts of love for Shambhala for years, which is arguably his most highly-anticipated set to play year after year.
Yet another Shambhala superstar of sorts with a funky-fresh sound is Stylust Beats from Los Angeles, who has repeatedly crushed sets as a Village Stage veteran since 2012, solidifying his fan base from Cali to Canada. Stylust is the founder and frontman of Sleeveless Records, a collective that embodies his experimental, complex, innovative form of music, and various artists that fall loosely into the same category. Classic hip-hop samples come to life with futuristic basslines and upbeat tempos for a fresh take on electronic dance music, and his talented mash-up skills make any Stylust track or set perfect for a sold-out show and house party alike. The West Coast native has produced with Bassnectar, ill.Gates, Perkulator, Truth, and more, proving himself more than worthy to hang with the big dogs of the bass music scene.
Chances are, if you listen to bass music, you recognize the name Jantsen immediately- perhaps from one of his many tracks with Bassnectar such as “Lost In The Crowd”, “Every Time”, and the crowd favorite “What”. Dig deeper into Jantsen’s discography and you’ll immerse yourself in a world of grimey bangers infused with blaring synths and diabolical bass drops, maintaining an overall old school UK dubstep vibe tweaked with uptempo beats and an often-times trappy tone for a modernized sound. Repping Colorado on his sleeve, Jantsen has played at shows and festivals all over the board, and he just released a brand new track called “Take Me There” on Kairos Audio that we can only hope to hear live when he throws down at Pass The Good in a few weeks.
