Introducing Mamby on the Beach
Chicago is proud of its music scene. Declaring itself the home of house, this vibrant city has more street festivals than you can shake a Goose Island at. One party in particular got some extra attention from React Presents this year, Mamby on the Beach. These guys took a weekly party dedicated to the summer vibes of house and techno, and made it the first indie-dance beach festival in the city. Both well known and up-and-coming live acts are coming to the stage to bring the feeling of summer and overall beach awesomeness through music.
This year’s lineup includes Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Klingande, James Murphy, Royksopp, Phantogram, Art Department, Cherub, and a ton more. These groups all have a little bit more to offer than the usual push-button DJs, many acts on the lineup are live bands with the purpose of making you dance, and oh boy, they do it well. Some acts like Classixx are bringing their live show rather than a DJ set as well. Bring your sandy dancing shoes to this one, the feeling of summer is bound to take over. With the warm weather only slowly creeping in, this festival’s mid July dates are sure to bring the sunshine. Everything will be going down at Oakwood Beach July 11 & 12, and tickets for this awesome new festival are available now for only $99! VIP packages are currently $199 and allow attendees to take a dip in Lake Michigan. Check out the full lineup below.
