Jauz Lolla After Party Turns Into Historic B2B Set
Festivals are beautiful for several reasons. The music, art, and culture are the given reasons, but it’s the social aspect of a festival that truly makes them special. Just as much as we love running into a long-lost-festival-pal, artists love to do the same. The only difference is when artists get together, they want to do what they love: make music. This is much to our benefit, because festivals are the place to be for pop-up sets and special appearances. What else could you expect when all your favorite artists are in the same city at the same festival on the same weekend? Great things, that’s what you can expect.
The Mid is a small, intimate venue in downtown Chicago. They host the best of the best in electronic music as well as some great festival after parties. This past Lollapalooza weekend, Jauz and Marshmello were set to play a sold out after party at the Mid. Things got a little crazy after that…
Jauz was killing it for about 20 minutes before the anonymous Marshmello came onto the scene earlier than expected with his ambiguous white getup and everything. This powerful duo started a surprise back-to-back set that had the crowd in a frenzy over the surprise visit. Not an hour goes by before Snails comes in out of nowhere. Snails B2B Jauz B2B Marshmello = filthy dirty disgustingly heavy bass for booty-shaking. Heart attacks are an understatement before GRiZ then entered the building, posse and all! As per usual, GRiZ was ready to throw down on stage. He’s getting to be known as someone that pops out of nowhere to jump on the decks and play a few jams. As if this wasn’t crazy enough, Ryan from Loudpvck squeezed into the tiny backstage area of the Mid. All 5 DJs were reportedly “climbing over each other” to play a set that few will ever forget, the entire thing was not planned. The entirety of the Mid was packed to the brim, from the green room to the dance floor with friends and fans of all 5 of these amazing artists.
It’s rare that this many DJs come together for a back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back set for the history books. Check out a few photos of the crazy event here.
