Kelly Clarkson Is Writing A Children’s Book
Motherhood has been good to Kelly Clarkson. After finding herself married to Reba McEntire‘s stepson, Brandon Blackstock, it seemed things have been in high spirits for the Texan. After giving birth to River Rose in the summer of 2014, Clarkson has found a great joy in celebrating her daughter by including a memorable song that celebrated her new family on her latest album. But now, Clarkson can be added to a list of musicians who have a children’s book! River Rose and the Magical Lullaby is the joint effort between the “Since U Been Gone” singer and illustrator Laura Hughes for one of the world’s largest publishing companies, HarperCollins.
Leading up to the book’s reveal, Clarkson announced that she was planning something special with her first born by leaving hints about the project. In a video released online, Clarkson revealed that she wanted to capture the moments she spends with her daughter at home and abroad. Commenting that River Rose is too young to remember, her mother has planned the book to be memorable not only for her, but for children and families worldwide.
The book itself will feature River Rose on a sleepless night, anticipating a big adventure at the zoo — how cute is that?! — with her mother singing a lullaby that transports the titular character on a magical and imaginative trip. While we await this October-released book, Kelly Clarkson has a few things to say that will no doubt inspire you. “When kids read River Rose and the Magical Lullaby my hope is that it inspires their imagination and reminds them that they should always follow their dreams – no matter where they lead.”
River Rose landed down in the center of the zoo.
And right around the corner came a bouncy kangaroo.
He was just about to ask if there was something he could do,
when River Rose jumped up and said, “We’ve come to play with you!”
