Krooked Driver’s “Take Me Back”
“Today we’re proud to announce the initial launch of our first full length LP release on Super Best Records. We’ve been grinding away in the studio for what feels like forever making something to drive you to a new level of consciousness, formulating a sturdy story board for your mind to wander. The twelve track hour long album is a real expression of our movement and feelings towards beauty and emotion involved with music and everyday life. With all the ups and downs we wanna thank everyone involved with the KD project and all the fans who continue to support our vision.”
When Maddy O’Neil and Donnie Dalbora were given Ableton live software in 2011, they had no idea their shared passion for music and record collecting would soon become their livelihood. In just three years, the Denver-based electronic music duo has successfully mastered midi controllers, keyboards and the art of vinyl sampling, producing what’s been called a “breakthrough in how soul and funk are delivered through time and bass.”
KD’s mission is to create fresh, organic sound by fusing old-school grooves with modern melodies, and it gains more momentum with every track they produce. Their music effortlessly spans across genres to form a cohesive sound scape of soultronic trip-hop, melding warm vocals from greats such as Albert King with the rowdy rhymes of DMX. Pair that with heavy hitting bass lines and funky, soulful instrumentals, and you’ve got a full-blown dance party coming through your speakers.
