Lightning in a Bottle will Bring Magic to California Memorial Day Weekend
Every festival seeks to create a meaningful, life-changing experience for all attendees, but few have actually accomplished this feat in a comparable fashion to that of Lightning in a Bottle. This year’s 14th installation of LIB will take place Memorial Day weekend in Bradley, California at the San Antonio Recreation Area. LIB, the brainchild of ingenious The Do Lab, is an all-encompassing interactive experience that celebrates the essentials of human life: art, music, performance, and sustainability.
What truly sets LIB apart from most festivals is the fact that it’s a mixture of a burn gathering and a giant event, as it incorporates bigger EDM acts, yoga workshops, interactive speakers, mind-boggling art installations, and impressively mapped out stage designs. The burner quality stems from the fact that the festival is highly participant-based. The first LIB was actually a private birthday party in 2000, and the event didn’t become a public festival until 2004; this rich history adds to the overall experience.
Although the lineup hasn’t been officially announced, we can expect great things given LIB’s track record of impressive lineups. Some of the big names that have rocked LIB past lineups include: Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, The Glitch Mob, Griz, Emancipator, Random Rab, Bonobo, Tycho, Paper Diamond, Rusko and Purity Ring. Keep your eyes and ears open because the official eargasmic lineup is set to drop any day now.
Be prepared to dance out your demons, get your relaxing yoga on, learn some new things, and love life with every ounce of your soul while at Lightening in a Bottle. The festival is sure to create a once in a lifetime experience. Tickets are on sale now at lightninginabottle.org. Applications for participants can also be found on the LIB website here.
