Manic Focus feat. Dominic Lalli “Bumpin’ In The Voodoo”
The days of Funk are far from over, but they’ve evolved far beyond your Mom’s vinyl. Manic Focus has been an innovative creator of funky beats and breaks since he started. Big Gigantic‘s Dominic Lalli helped to make live instruments paired with music production something to strive for. These two talented musicians have come together for a new single called “Bumpin’ In The Voodoo.”
The song is short and sweet, but brings the best of both of worlds from each artist. Manic Focus starts out the song and his iconic sound sets the tone. Vocal samples then enter, mixed with female rap vocals to spice things up a bit. Dominic Lalli’s saxophone is spread throughout the entirety of the song, making it seem more like a mixing of the minds rather than a feature song. However the collaboration came about, the song is short and sweet making the listener wish that there were more songs with these two working as a team.
It seems as though the best and the brightest of musicians are collaborating more now than ever before. Many electronic musicians are touring together resulting in amazing musical collaborations. Some electronic musicians have seen each other at the many music festivals that happen each year then become fans of one another and an amazing melding of the minds begins to happen. This single is a perfect example of that. Often, one hears the words “I’d love to work with them” in the music industry and more than ever this togetherness is becoming commonplace. Gone are the days of band beefs and music rivalries, we’re all in this together and it is finally coming to the surface. Check out the new track below.
