Mark Redito Drops Glossy New Full Length Album Neutropical
Mark Redito planted his flag in 2013 with his debut album Desire. The Los Angeles based electronic music producer quickly established himself as a dynamic creative force and has worked with a myriad of collaborators from Willow Smith to Kero Kero Bonito. Today Mark returns to the forefront of electronic music with his first full-length album in six years, Neutropical. This genre-defying release and stunning accompanying visual showcases Mark’s immense musicianship and creative acumen.
Neutropical is the vibrant embodiment of Mark’s journey in music and a sound that he describes appropriately as Tropical Futurism. The album blooms to life with a clear cultural aesthetic inspired by Afro-Futurism. Drenched in the island culture that Mark grew up with, Neutropical finds beauty in the chaos of a world built upon oppression and exploitation. There is a timelessly resilient spirit woven within the fabric of this album which is tempered by its intoxicating futuristic style. Synthy pop-inspired elements dovetail beautifully with cutting-edge electronic production, as Mark draws inspiration from his ethnic background and invites the listener into the very depths of his being.
The entire album has the energy and sophistication of a dance party soundtrack, but is truly far more intimate and deeply rooted than a simple collection of infectious tracks. Mark Redito reveals not only himself but his lineage, upbringing and culture beautifully with this ambitious release. Mark kicks off his US tour in July and we can’t wait to experience his tropical futuristic style firsthand.
