Movement TOTD: La Fleur – “Make A Move”
Movement Electronic Music Festival has its 10th anniversary this May, and the festival is bringing some of the best in the techno/house music scene to celebrate. Today’s track of the day comes from Swedish producer La Fleur. Her name translates to “The Flower,” and her music flawlessly mirrors the gradual and complex bloom a flower might have. The track is called “Make A Move” and it has us so captivated, we’re getting Stockholm Syndrome.
In a consistently male-dominated electronic music scene, there are a handful of talented ladies that can break through the testosterone and make a name for themselves. Some do it by making the hardest beats out there, La Fleur does it by creating silky smooth, sultry bass just feminine enough to get all the boys excited. La Fleur doesn’t need to boast the fact that she’s a beautiful woman, her beats do it for her. With its driving beat and story telling synth, “Make A Move” is a quick 2 minute track that demands a repeat play. It takes the listener to the moment when you see that someone to which you can’t deny, but can’t bring yourself to speak. The track loops back and forth, you want to make a move, then quickly chicken out. The only lyric in the track leaves the listener begging for more, your certain someone has left, sans satisfaction. We can’t wait to see what La Fleur has in store for this 10th anniversary of Movement, held May 28-30th. First wave of the lineup is out and tickets are on sale now.
