Ardalan Drops Debut Album Mr. Good & North American Tour Continues Through 2020
For a label with nothing left to prove and every reason to rest on their laurels, DIRTYBIRD continues to shatter the mold and cultivate exceptional artists. The collective has produced some of the most ubiquitous names in the world of house music and their track record speaks for itself. Now one of the label’s most familiar and beloved names has cemented his place as a force in the industry. Ardalan recently released his debut LP, Mr. Good, a mesmerizing aural journey that captures a distinctive and emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist.
Mr. Good is a suave coming-of-age tale that gives fans a personal view of a producer’s personal growth and maturation. Through the 11 tracks that comprise the release, listeners are exposed to Ardalan’s captivating story. From growing up in his two homes of Iran and San Francisco, to finding success and grappling with the sacrifice that comes with it, Ardalan’s story is laid bare in a compelling and sophisticated package.
From the outside looking in, it’s easy for us to see Dirtybird as a second family for its artists. Rather than simply a label that distributes music, Dirtybird is a fertile oasis for artists to truly express themselves, this freedom cultivates a brand of music that is undeniably honest and innovative. Ardalan builds on this legacy with his phenomenal debut album, which sets him apart from the run-of-the-mill hitmaker and distinguishes him as a supremely talented visionary.
Ardalan pushes the envelope by crafting a sonic style that brings a classic feel to an otherwise futuristic project. Building on the DItybird ethos that he first experienced as a teenaged artist during the label’s first BBQ event in 2007, Ardalan concocts a compelling slew of tracks for this debut LP. Brimming with analog elements, Mr. Good utilizes instruments like the iconic Yamaha SP1200 and a Deckard’s Dream to evoke spacey elements on tracks like “Happy Place,” “Zombie Village,” and “Osci”.
Ardalan continues to ride his wave of momentum as he brings his Mr. Good Album Tour well into 2020. Check out the full dates below.
