Mysteryland USA – The Experience
While it’s still a mystery what Mysteryland USA will bring this year, it’s easy to speculate what could be there. Mysteryland tends to focus its directive completely on the experience that its attendees will have during their stay; from stages that cater to all kinds of genres of Electronic Dance Music, to healing workshops that include services such as yoga or the services of a professional masseuse, Mysteryland does not hold back.
Let’s first talk about the stages. Last year’s Mysteryland had some very notable stages: Mainstage, Q Dance, Dirty Dutch Big Top and Resist. The Mainstage was headlined by Steve Aoki / Steve Angello, where as the Q Dance stage was headlined by Headhunterz. The Dirty Dutch Big Top was home to many of top names in the Dirty Dutch genre with the likes of Chuckie and Dirty South, and the Resist stage had a stacked line-up of bass fiends such as Caspa and Zeds Dead. Being highly noted for their production, ID&T didn’t cut any corners when producing these stages.
Aside from its immense production, Mysteryland wants its goers to feel at home at the festival. Being a host to a whole wide range of workshops helps Mysteryland attend to essentially any need anyone could have. A big part of Mysteryland outside of the music is the Healing Garden. The Healing Garden gives goers a place to relax and wind down when feeling tired. They offer relaxing yoga classes and massages done by professionals right on site. In addition to the Healing Garden, Mysteryland wants everyone to feel more in touch with their surroundings and is a huge supporter of local, organic, and fair-trade. The festival is big on offering a wide variety of delicious foods, which can be found at a ton of different little pop-up restaurants right on the grounds.
Mysteryland is very big on preserving the grounds they use. Each year the festival is patrolled and kept clean by the “Mysteryland Green Team.” In addition to the several waste management points throughout the festival, this team goes around picking up and sorting the garbage and recyclables they find throughout the grounds. They make sure everything is separated before being disposed of so that a large portion of the materials can get a new life. To help give back even more, the festival offers “Trees For Traffic.” This is a program that you can help neutralize your CO2 footprint and plant a tree when you purchase a parking or shuttle bus ticket. The festival has already planted over 2,000 trees with this program!
Let’s not forget one of the biggest parts of Mysteryland: the theatrics. Fully dedicated actors and actresses dress the part throughout the festival to further immerse the attendees in their surroundings. These actors and actresses play a huge role in connecting people to the production and it takes festival-goers to a whole different world all together.
