The New Shpongletron 3.1 Coming to Philadelphia 4/4/15
Recently announced tour dates for Shpongle’s latest tour, dubbed “The New Shpongletron 3.1,” will be bringing the British psychedelic duo to Philadelphia’s Electric Factory in April for a decadent night of sensory stimulation. Joined by visual artist Zebbler, the Philadelphia stop will be the culmination of Shpongle’s country-wide two-month-long tour, making it a can’t-miss event for Shpongle fans and anybody curious about the psytrance scene.
Since 1994, Simon Posford and Raja Ram, the two halves that make up Shpongle, have been bringing delightful weirdness to shows and speaker systems across the world. Their infusion of psytrance and ambient genres with a large dash of world music in the mix makes for a truly unique listening experience, and when paired with their famous visual shows as in “The New Shpongletron 3.1,” it’s a can’t-miss event. The Electric Factory makes an excellent venue for this kind of show, with its balance of an intimate-feeling atmosphere and a space large enough to pack a crowd.
After the 2013 release of their latest album, Museum of Consciousness, Shpongle has been on the tour scene pretty steadily, and if you’ve seen them before, you know that Shpongle gives the kind of performance that makes you want to go right back and see them again. Whether you’re a longtime fan or you’ve never had the Shpongle experience in your life, waste no time before heading over to their website to score your tickets before they sell out. Then, prepare yourself for a long night of eargasms and eyegasms as you take in this incredible multimedia performance.
