North Coast Music Festival Artists to Watch: Orchard Lounge and more
It seems like just yesterday that festival season started. Hundreds of camp-outs, street fests, day festivals, and after parties have happened since and we find ourselves in July. We’re already half way through summer; what do you have planned after the fourth? Whether you’re in Chicago or not, North Coast Music Festival in Union Park, the last weekend of August (29-31st) should be one to put on the calendar. The lineup is huge, and headliners like STS9, Bassnectar, and Snoop Dogg are guaranteed to make it on the list of things to see. However, we want to give you a little glimpse at another artist or two that may have flown under your radar until now.
Just a couple weeks ago, Sensible Reason had a chance to have a chat with three artists already on the lineup for North Coast at another Chicago festival, Spring Awakening. All three groups were an absolute pleasure with which to be around and chat. Porn and Chicken made their interviewer hula hoop for them, Milk n’ Cookies told us about their secret crushes, and Midnight Conspiracy gave some props to the little guy. All three artists have awesome and unique shows that completely rocked Spring Awakening and are guaranteed to do the same at North Coast.
Another artist to be on the lookout for will be Orchard Lounge. These Chicago natives have been making music since 2001 and have never stopped being one of the most unique electronic groups in the industry. They are impossible to define, but their smooth experimental tones mixed with distinct house influences are bound to mesmerize at North Coast. These guys will stand out in a sea of trap beats and big room anthems, and that’s definitely an artist to watch. Check out these guys at North Coast, Sensible Reason will be there to let you know when the schedule is announced so you can plan accordingly.
