Defining what is hip-hop and what is not hip-hop, can sometimes be an impossible task. One duo from New Jersey going by the name of The Peanut Gallery is looking to create a lane separate for themselves in the existing world of rap. The New Jersey natives “The Peanut Gallery” a new duo being introduced to the hip-hop world is hoping that their unorthodox style will turn heads. The two are on a mission to “bring back authenticity” to the rap game. With their own unique sound and vision, The Peanut Gallery is trying to bring their energy into the underground hip-hop community.One-half of the duo is made up of Orlando – a college and prep school graduate who enlisted in the Army dresses like the cartoon character Arthur is an avid breakdancer. The other half of the duo is Jersey native, Flee Jones.
With their lead single “Deep Thoughts“, listeners can get a better understanding of what this duo is going for. These two are definitely taking the road less traveled. You can truly tell that The Peanut Gallery is hoping to attract fans who appreciate their esoteric subject matter and left of center approach. Certainly not ones to follow the pack The Peanut Gallery deserve credit for going for it and developing their own unique ethos. As far as the music and video are concerned, however, there is definitely room for improvement. Cooking up some better ways to bring their message to life would further benefit this audacious duo.
