Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Just Won the Internet
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong just upped the ante for the bad-boy of pharmaceuticals, Martin Shkreli, who is infamous for gouging patients on a drug used for treating HIV and cancer. This guy must be an only child or have a serious “everything is mine” complex, since recently, he unsuccessfully tried to purchase the rights to Kanye West’s new album so he could have it all to himself.
So, on February 15, Pigeons decided to offer Shkreli an offer he couldn’t (or rather, wouldn’t want to) refuse. The band tweeted at Shkreli directly while citing an open letter they penned to the “most hated man in America.”
The four-piece funk ensemble from Baltimore, MD – being the funny guys they are – proposed a deal to Shkreli. Pigeons offered to sell him the rights to their new album, Pleasure, for the generous amount of $2.5 million, just half a million more than what Shkreli paid for Wu-Tang Clan’s album back in December. They also threw their van into the deal for good measure, which is a good move since they would be able to use those millions to purchase a tour bus and have it psychedelically decked out “Pimp My Ride” style.
The talented and funky quartet recently released their newest single, “Live It Up,” on SoundCloud and it looks like they are definitely living up to its name. Shkreli should probably consider their offer, especially since Pigeons are literally taking off and gaining more notoriety in the jam scene. He obviously has the extra money to spare
Surely Shkreli would be able to afford this after all the stunts he has been pulling lately. He definitely shouldn’t skip out on this offer from Pigeons since these guys are going places.
