California is typically known, around the world, for its never-ending summers — what most people don’t know is that the Golden state does indeed feel some seasonal changes. Pismocean is taking place in Oceano, which is located on the beautiful central coast, on November 4-6, 2016. This is the festival’s inaugural year, but despite it being a newborn in the circuit, it boasts an epic line-up and a concentration on being eco-friendly.
Featuring big names like The Gaslamp Killer and Lee Burridge, Pismocean promises to end the festival season with a bang; that’s not just because Gunslinger is playing either. If you’ve never been to Oceano before, you’re in for a special treat. The coastlines and sunsets are what people dream of their whole lives, and the ocean shouldn’t be that cold yet; perfect for an early morning dip. And, to add a cherry on top of all of this, the lineup really does not disappoint for a new festival. Henry Pope x LittleFoot are a pair of my weekend must-see’s.
With the location at Oceano Dunes, in Pismo Beach State Park, the festival is in a prime spot; three hours north of Los Angeles and three hours south of San Francisco. Being located on the dunes in such a sacred area, Pismocean aims to be completely eco-minded. All of the food vendors promise to deliver healthy, organic, and delicious options. They will also be using 100% biodegradable utensils to prevent littering and building up wastes. Not only will the vendors be eco-conscious, the whole festival will be run on bio-diesel fuel made from veggie oil and soybean oil.
Besides a killer lineup, stunning location, and a focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness, Pismocean will also have mindfulness workshops, yoga, and more. Keep in mind this is all happening on a beach. Early bird tickets are on sale NOW, and are super affordable for all that is being offered. Don’t skip out on this one! Come celebrate one last beach “hurrah” before winter officially kicks in.
